Flat Holm to Steep Holm

Brand new for 2026. This route was first swam by Bryce in October 2025. A 4.5k(ish) swim from one island to another, deep in the middle of the worlds 2nd largest tidal range. The Bristol Channel.

Sound easy? Its not. To land this swim means swimming at roughly a 45 degree angle to the mighty currents, which are constantly trying to push you off course. Once you reach Steep Holm island, you have a final battle against the flow as the tide is turning, the last 100m could quite well be the hardest. If you’re lucky, you will be escorted in bay the curious local seals. This is as much a challenge in guiding as it is swimming.

The route can also be swam in reverse, and can also be swam as a solo or a group booking. Swimmers in a group must be the same pace, or we may need to pick up swimmers to keep you together.
